Generative Product Packaging Service

Using Siemens NX, algorithmic modelling approaches are leveraged in this Product-Service System to create a generative design algorithm which is bioinspired by the slime mold. By abstracting the working principle of the slime mold into engineering terms, an algorithm was created which can selectively generate support structure within a define region. This allows for applications within packaging design; creating custom packaging to protect product of any arbitrary shape whilst also reinforcing critical regions and areas of high force impacts. This product be used as a design tool for packaging solutions within the product development cycle. Most project work was research-based focusing on conceptualisation and prototyping.
